The Ethical Fashionista
You like to buy natural fibers only and are a fan of thrifting. Art, music and home improvement are your hobbies. You follow activists and often do clothing swaps with your friends. You prefer to give stuff away instead of throwing it out and trying to fix things before getting rid of them. You are good at sewing and maintenance in general.
Tips & Tricks to improve your sustainable practices:
- Invest only in clothes that you like and need.
- Make thrifting your best friend! Shop second-hand first.
- Go natural. Buy clothing made with natural fabric fibers instead of synthetic fabrics. Natural alternatives to synthetic fabrics include cotton, linen, bamboo, flax, jute, silk, wool, and alpaca. Also, look into low-impact materials such as Modal and Lyocell. Avoid polyester, nylon, spandex and acrylic.
- Donate, don’t throw out. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Donate unwanted clothing to thrift stores or local shelters instead of throwing them out.
